My name is Wyneisha. I am 27 years old, born and raised in the South Bronx #boogiedown but currently residing in my own place in Westchester. I recently got married to the love of my life (Mrs. Huntt here) and I am figuring out what does marriage look like for two young adults who are still becoming. #adulting
A few years ago, I chose to write this blog so I could share my experiences, my thoughts, my reflections on my spiritual journey with God because I realize that this journey is not always a solo one. I also realize that the beauty of the journey is not only in the final destination but also the lessons acquired along the way.
I’m not perfect. I don’t know everything. After chasing after perfection for so long, I am now learning to love and admire my strength in spite of failure. I believe that I am chosen to be a light in this generation – a young, black Christian woman in ministry – even if that means I speak alone with my own story. I am chosen. Even if this is the only part of the blog that you read as you visit this space, I just want you to believe that God has chosen you too (Ephesians 1:4).
In the midst of the world telling you what you should define yourself as and what you should seek to become, in the midst of feelings of self-doubt and shame that seem to reside inside your heart with a constant message that you “need something else to make you complete”, in the midst of that crazy spaces and corners of our lives where anxiety, worry, regret, depression and fear of becoming nothing seem to speak loudly in our hearts and ears —
You are royalty. You have a story. You have a purpose. You are valued. You are loved.
And because He is, we are here so let’s see where God’s grace takes us.
