It’s crazy how God’s Word always has a healing balm for every situation.
“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” [James 5:16 NLT]
And I don’t have much to say this week – although I battled with having a few posts about judgment and being pharisees and the purpose of the church.
But honestly, all of that doesn’t matter if we haven’t given our hearts over to God.
Sometimes we think we’re doing alright because our sins aren’t as “bad” as someone else’s. (Or as if we have the ability to judge when sin is bad or good or worse or the worst…crazy.)
We all sin. We all fall short (Romans 3:23). And we shouldn’t glory in someone else’s situation because ours gets to be hidden for another day or moment.
Let’s be better than that.
I personally am praying hard. Without stopping. Because God is still God. And nothing NOTHING will stop who He is (Matthew 16:17-19).
And let’s glory in the fact that God is giving all of us a chance toward repentance, grace and purification. Yes Lord, purify us please. Our hearts, our minds, our judgmental ways – cleanse your church, cleanse your people that we may shine in Your glory alone.
